Been wondering how this works with scholarships

he is on scholarship to play football at VT. It is 2-3 weeks into the semester, so classes are started, I assume he is enrolled and his tuition and such are paid, living in the athletes dorm, eating athletes food, etc, all paid for by his scholarship.

He just quit the job that pays his tuition, rent and food. Does he still get those things for the rest of the semester? Did he leave school?

What about players that enter the portal before classes start but haven't signed with a new school? Are they still on scholarship at the school they were at or do they go home and wait to enroll somewhere else in the fall?

Anyone know how this works?
